The Flyers could be looking to go all in on the rebuild by trading one of their top forwards.

Top Flyers Forward Rumoured to be on the Trade Block

The Flyers are in a weird period where they aren't good enough to make the playoffs consistently but not bad enough to win the draft lottery. To best combat this, they look to be shopping one of their top forwards for a nice chunk of change.

Kevin Hayes was 2nd on the Flyers in scoring this past season with 54 points in 82 games. Hayes has never been a point-producing machine but his value comes from his size and grit. At 6'5" Hayes is one of the largest players in the NHL and he provides some physicality as well.

The Flyers look to be shopping Hayes because of his over $7 million cap hit which hinders the team cap-wise. With younger players beginning to rise through the ranks soon, Hayes will either be pushed out of stunt the development of those players so it is in Philly's best interest to shop Hayes.

If a team were to take on Hayes, they would likely need Philly to retain his salary to make it work and said team would have to be comfortable with his contract lasting a long time.

A Potential Hayes Trade

One team that has been linked to Hayes for a while now is Carolina who could be looking to add Hayes.

To CAR:
Kevin Hayes ($2,142,857 retained) [CAR only pays $5m a year for Hayes]

To PHI:
30th overall pick in 2023
Scott Morrow (top prospect in Carolina's system)
Ryan Suzuki (2019 first-round pick)
