Most people were pretty sure that Pierre Luc-Dubois wouldn't stick around in Winnipeg. The same was thought about Mark Scheifele. Yet, there was still some hope when it came to Connor Hellebuyck, a Vezina-winning goalie.
Hellebuyck played a key role in getting the Jets to this season's playoffs. He might be the team's most vital player.
He has reportedly told the team leaders that he's not planning to stay.
Hellebuyck could be traded for a lot, but if he goes, the Jets will have to rebuild their team and risk not making the playoffs.
The Jets leaders are facing a hard choice. Should they try to stay competitive for another year and lose their main players for nothing, or should they let the players go and start rebuilding?
It's going to be quite intriguing to see what they decide to do.
