According to a recent report by trusted NHL insider David Pagnotta, the L.A. Kings are the first and only team to have confirmed interest in forward Tom Wilson.
Wilson to L.A.
While Wilson still has one more year on his current contract with Washington, the team has made him available in trade talks recently. This comes after a string of moves at this year's NHL trade deadline, which seem to indicate that the Capitals are heading towards a retool.
Wilson still has lots of gas left in his tank and should be primed to receive another wealthy contract next off-season.
L.A. Not Afraid to Spend Big
Wilson would be a major addition to any team, but L.A. has made similar moves in the past. They acquired Kevin Fiala from Minnesota last year and could put together a similar package for Wilson.
Perhaps a first-round pick, a B-level prospect, and a roster player would be enough to pry Wilson from Washington. Maybe a prospect such as the once highly touted Quinton Byfield even gets thrown into trade talks.
