Connor McDavid has been widely recognized as the NHL's best player for quite some time now. The former 1st overall pick has scored at paces that were thought to be impossible in the 21st century and is only continuing to get better. While he doesn't have the most outgoing personality, he has come out with one idea to help the NHL reform one of their most controversial penalties.

McDavid Proposes Change to NHL's Glass

When asked what he would change about the NHL if he could, Connor McDavid had one of the most interesting answers. The young center said that he would make the glass that runs along the boards of the arena curve over at the top to prevent pucks from going out of play so easily and limiting delay of game penalties.

"The glass folding in at the top, keep the pucks in, like a little bit of a bowl." - Connor McDavid

Not everyone agrees with McDavid's proposal, but it would certainly make the game more interesting.

NHL Needs to Listen to Star Players

The NHL has done a notoriously bad job marketing the game of hockey, and fans have repeatedly asked for a change in marketing direction. While McDavid's proposal isn't the most popular, it could do the NHL a world of good to listen to the proposals of their players.

The MLB implemented a highly controversial pitch clock this season, and while many fans were against it, it got people talking about the sport like crazy. Perhaps the NHL could learn from this, and consider some new rule changes to keep up with shifting demographics.

As Seen on Blade of Steel - Connor McDavid has an idea to get rid of delay of game, it actually could work
