It was disappointing sight this season when a few players opted to boycott the pride movement. One of the more active names in the boycott will now hit free agency.
Reimer to Leave San Jose (Again)
James Reimer's second stint in San Jose wasn't as inspiring as his first. In 2016, he was an integral piece in the Sharks making a franchise-best playoff run, but this year he caused a lot more harm than good.
His stance against the pride movement caused a media storm, with many fans turning against his old-fashioned discriminatory ways.
Per his agent, Reimer and the Sharks will part ways due to the Sharks no longer needing a veteran goalie.
«Mike (Grier) and the team there absolutely love Reims but given where they're at [rebuilding] it made sense for them to let him go. But he loved his time in San Jose.»
Popular Name in Free Agency
Nonetheless, in a tight goalie market, he will likely have a lot of attention.
