Playing professional hockey has its risks. We've seen many players forced to retire after suffering major injuries.

It could be the case for Josh Ho-Sang, a former NHLer now in the KHL.

In his first KHL game back in 2022, he got injured and was forced to leave the ice. He had to undergo surgery and hasn't been back since. What was supposed to be a three-month recovery has turned into an eight-month absence. A rumor of his retirement has come up earlier today.

Ho-Sang Contemplating Retirement

Ho-Sang has been involved in a number of controversies since his junior days. He received a major suspension for a dangerous hit in the OHL.

When he joined the NHL, he insisted on wearing Mario Lemieux's number 66, causing quite a stir in the community.

Between 2016 and 2019, he played 53 games for the Islanders, who drafted him in the first round of the 2014 draft, and managed to score 24 points during that time. He also won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2022 Olympics.

What started as a promising career has been marred by a bad reputation and injuries. Now, at only 27 years old, he might retire.
