The NHL trade deadline is under 3 weeks away and some of the rumours floating around are extremely intriguing, but don't believe everything you hear this time of year. With names like Ben Chiarot, Jakob Chychrun and John Klingberg floating around there is set to be a ton of movement. But according to one insider that list isn't as long as it's rumoured to have been.
According to, The Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli the Dallas Stars might not be making Klingberg available at all. This could just be posturing but this is what Klingberg had to say:
"To my knowledge...John Klingberg is actually not available at the moment. They are not actively listening to offers on John Klingberg. I think you have to come in and present them something that totally blows their mind in order to make it happen"
This would become a case of the Stars using Klingberg as their "own rental" as he's already shared his intentions to move on from the stars. This could also be used in an attempt to drive up the return of other defensemen who the Stars expect to move first before maximizing their return.
