Former 6th Overall Pick Walks Away From Millions to Part Ways With the Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings are officially parting ways with former 6th overall pick Filip Zadina via mutual contract termination, per Frank Seravalli:
The Czech born winger was the 6th overall selection in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, after a standout junior career with the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL, and an impressive performance at the World Junior Championship.

Filip Zadina was signed to a 3 year, $5,475,000 contract extension by former Red Wings GM Ken Holland on Aug. 26, 2022. Zadina has scored 28 goals and 40 assists for a total of 68 points in 190 NHL games. His career +/- is -51.
