A former teammate of the Toronto Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner had little good to say about him in a recent appearance on the Leafs' Morning Take podcast. Jay Rosehill said he doesn't think Marner has what it takes to get to the promised land.
Rosehill spent four years in the Toronto Maple Leafs' system, most of it with the Marlies of the AHL. He did, however, play 72 games in the NHL with Toronto in parts of three seasons, allowing him to get a good look at the people he was playing with. Rosehill has been playing in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) in the U.K. for the past two seasons.

Mitch Marner has had 7 years to prove himself in the NHL. Everything Jay Rosehill said was accurate. Marner is a supremely skilled guy who's repeatedly disappeared when it was go-time in the playoffs. Sergei (@berezin_goal) June 24, 2023
