It definitely all feels scripted, but we can't really be sure. Gary Bettman's reaction to Chicago's lottery win does feel especially iffy, however.
Bettman's Reaction Feels Fake
The financial motive is clearly there. With $2.5-million in additional season ticket sales within hours of the combination of four balls coming up the lottery machine, the Blackhawks are already set to become a money-maker for years to come.
Thus, it is an easy go for fans to call out Gary Bettman and the NHL for rigging the process.

Bettman definitely doesn't seem particularly shocked the Blackhawks had the winning combination!
