We all know that the hockey world was in shock when former Habs GM Marc Bergevin picked defenceman Logan Mailloux with their 1st round pick in this past summer's draft.
The shock wasn't because of his talent but more for the incident that got him suspended for half of the season by the Canadian Hockey League.
However Marc Bergevin is gone and the Canadiens have a new new GM in Kent Hughes who has to decide the Canadiens future moving forward. The Canadiens got a steal in Logan Mailloux if not for his mistake he made would of been drafted much higher than 31st.
Habs GM Kent Hughes discusses the first time he met with the Canadiens prospect:
"When you look at the body of work done or the experience, who knows? But that would be a very unlikely scenario. In my opinion, the best course of action for him is to go pro next year rather than be back in London. Where we are right now in terms of getting him to sign a contract and that sort of thing, I think we're putting it off a little bit. Because we're still evaluating him as a human being!"
Logan Mailloux has all the tools to be a star in the NHL he's 6'3 208 pounds and before injuring his shoulder Mailloux had 3 goals and 6 assists with a plus rating in 12 games with the London knights.
