J.T. Miller appears to be on the way out of Vancouver in the very near future, and now, one reporter reveals that Dougie Hamilton may be a key piece of the trade if he were to be moved to the New Jersey Devils.

On Saturday, things heated up on the J.T. Miller trade front, and while a deal ultimately never came to fruition with the Rangers, it appears as though it's just a matter of time until Vancouver moves the star center.

However, it's not just the Rangers that are involved, as reporter Matt Marchese has suggested that Dougie Hamilton is likely to be included in any deal the Canucks make with the New Jersey Devils, which would fill a major need for both teams as they both seek a deep run at the Stanley Cup in 2024/25.

This comes on the heels of former No. 2 overall pick Simon Nemec voicing frustrations about limited opportunities, and if the team can make room for him to get consistent playing time on the blue line as well as constructing a center group of Jack Hughes/Nico Hischier/J.T. Miller, it would make them one of the deepest teams in the East.

At this point though, Miller is solely focused on being a Vancouver Canuck, as he stated his desire to stay with the team after their defeat at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers.

"I'm planning on being a Canuck today, tomorrow. Whatever happens, happens. I'm focused on the next game"

If a deal does go down with New Jersey however, Hamilton would be a very intriguing piece for the Canucks, and with Miller expected to move in the coming days, they may need to part ways with the veteran defenseman to finally land the upgrade down the middle that they've been seeking.
