During his time playing for the Carolina Hurricanes, Haydn Fleury developed his own little fan base. Some of those fans still follow his career now that he's a member of the Seattle Kraken. For one young fan when the Kraken traveled to Carolina to play against the Hurricanes, it was his opportunity to get to see one of his favorite players play live.
Unfortunately for the young fan, Fleury ended up being a healthy scratch for the Kraken. Well his parents took to Twitter to share their son's reaction and it's heartbreaking.
With the power of social media though, Fleury managed to catch wind of this and he himself took the time to reach out via Twitter.
As a good old Sasky boy, Haydn went out of his way to make sure this young fan's night was made and that's exactly the sort of gesture we as hockey fans have come to know and love from the athletes in our sport.
