Insider Reveals Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl's Future in Edmonton

Despite their lack of playoff success, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have been the NHL's most exciting and dynamic duo, so how long can this combination last in Edmonton?
Long-term success
After both signing very lucrative deals, we will see both men hit free agency after the 2024-25 season, and while many fans and insiders have speculated they could be looking elsewhere, it appears there is no such thought within the organization.
According to Oilers Insider Bob Stauffer, there is more than a 50/50 chance that both men will re-sign long-term in Edmonton, and while that will be quite expensive, it makes sense for the career of both men.
I will say this, what happens, and there's a chance, I might insist to you it's better than 50/50 that both Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid sign long-term here.
Stanley Cup glory?
While the Oilers are yet to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals under this tandem, the belief is there that they can make it happen, as the regular season success has been incredible, with McDavid notching 153 points this last season and Draisaitl 128.
Ultimately though, they will be judged on their success winning Cups, just as Wayne Gretzky did decades ago in Edmonton, and unless that happens or major steps are taken towards that, we may see one of them flee town for a better opportunity elsewhere.
