John Tavares Screws the Leafs With a Major Decision
In a press interview today, John Tavares shared his decision regarding his future with the Leafs potentially screwing them in the future.
Tavares' Selfish Decision Could Screw Leafs
Toronto Maple Leafs captain, John Tavares, loves playing for the Leafs. While this may be a good thing on the surface, this could potentially screw the Leafs in the near future.
In an interview earlier today, Tavares was asked about potentially waiving his No Movement Clause.
Tavares has a massive $11 million contract which takes up a large portion of the salary cap. If Kyle Dubas and the Leafs management decided they wanted to ship Tavares somewhere for a king's ransom that improves the team, Tavares can reject any trade.
This could hurt the Leafs down the stretch if Tavares declines as a player and becomes a burden salary cap wise. With Tavares not being open to playing anywhere else, his love for the Leafs may become the Leafs ultimate downfall.
