After being fired last year from the Columbus Blue Jackets, John Tortorella has recently signed a 4 year contract to coach the Philadelphia Flyers.

Tortorella has been known as a coach that is hard to play for, but brings the best out of players (well, most). Multiple former players have already made social media announcements offering their condolences for Flyers players.

Over his career, Torts has had a few ''interesting'' moments, such as the Calgary Flames locker-room incident:

When the announcement was officially made and Tortorella was hired by the Flyers, he was so humbled. He told a story about how even when he was coaching the Tampa Bay Lightning, he always wanted to coach the Flyers.

In his 20 years of NHL head coaching experience, Tortorella has a Stanley Cup ring and two Jack Adams Award honors (Coach of the Year). He won the Cup in 2004 with the Lightning, has put up three seasons of 100 or more points and owns 12 playoff berths and 10 series victories.

Tortorella made another announcement the other day that this will be the final team he ever coaches. When his time is up with the Flyers, he will be retiring from the life of an NHL coach.
