The Government of Canada has been investigating a the possibility of Hockey Canada's involvement of covering up the 2018 sexual assault.

This incident reportedly occurred during a party to celebrate the Team Canada World Juniors Gold Medal win.

The lawsuit has now been settled but it claimed that 8 members from the Canadian team were involved in this sexual assault.

It was discovered in this investigation that Hockey Canada agreed to pay a multi-million dollar settlement to end this case, without the players involved even having to be investigated.

Something shocking and also disgusting about this was it was discovered that Hockey Canada receives sexual assault claims every year, and this was the first anyone had heard about it.

Today the Government of Canada announced that they are freezing all Hockey Canada funding.

TSN's Rick Westhead provided this information:

The Canadian government is freezing Hockey Canada's millions of dollars in federal funding until the organization signs up with a new federal agency that has the power to independently receive and investigate abuse complaints and issue sanctions for inappropriate behaviour, Minister of Sport Pascale St-Onge said in an interview on Wednesday.
