It had been well documented that Ilya Kovalchuk and the Russian management have worked hard to try and get Evgeny Kuznetsov's suspension for cocaine use overturned so the center would be eligible for this years Olympic tournament.
Today IIHF President Luc Tardif announced that Russian Hockey Federations final appeal on behalf of Evgeny Kuznetsov's had been denied.
This means Kuznetsov will not be eligible to attend the 2022 Olympic Games should NHL players be able to attend.
