MAJOR REPORT: Jonathan Quick May Have Played Last NHL Game Already
Jonathan Quick helped define an era of NHL goaltending alongside other all-time greats like Henrik Lundkvist and Carey Price. Of the three, Quick is the last to remain active, but that may change very quickly.
Rangers Call Up Goalie Prospect Garand
The Rangers are relatively close to having their roster set for the season but one position that still has questions is in goal. Most assumed that the Rangers would go with a Shesterkin-Quick tandem but after a rough preseason for Quick, it appears the door has opened for prospect goalie Dylan Garand who was called up from the AHL today.
If Garand can outplay Quick in the remainder of the preseason he very well could make the opening night roster making Quick's future uncertain at best. Quick has played 753 career games and has a career record of 375-277-84. He has a 2.47 career goals against average plus a .911 save percentage and of course, two Stanley Cups.
