Behind Connor Bedard, Adam Fantilli is one incredible prospect. The Anaheim Ducks could add him to their core, but a twitter proposal might change thinks.
Cole Caufield and Trevor Zegras are not only best friends, but were elite linemates before coming to the NHL.
The US program of 2019 will likely go down as the greatest American draft in history, and these two players were a major proponent for that.
With Zegras already seemingly tagged 1C in Anaheim, and 3rd overall pick Mason McTavish ready to fill the 2C spot, do the Ducks really need Adam Fantilli?
Instead, Twitter user The Habitant proposed a deal that would send Pick #2 to Montreal in exchange for Cole Caufield and Pick #5.
The only objectively fair trade proposal for 2OA
To #gohabsgo
2nd Overall Pick
To #flytogether
5th Pick
Cole Caufield
Anaheim gets to re-unite Zegras and Caufield, can take a flyer at 5 on Michkov or a stud, and Montreal gets a superstar 1C
The analytics back up this trade, as Fantilli is on the level of, or even beyond the value of a normal first overall pick.
It would be a deal that alters both franchises for a long time. The only question is, would either team bite?
