Major Scrum in Rangers' Home Opener.

The New York Rangers played their home opener yesterday evening at Madison Square Garden against the Arizona Coyotes.

The whole game was played with intensity, but it reached a new level when the game ended. Almost every player on the ice got involved in a major scrum, including goaltender Igor Shesterkin.

66 Penalty Minutes Distributed Between Rangers and Coyotes

According to the official NHL numbers, a total of 66 penalty minutes were given to the players.

Arizona: Barrett Hayton (two minutes for cross-checking + ten-minute misconduct), Nick Bjugstad (two minutes for roughing + ten-minute misconduct), Matt Dumba (two minutes for roughing + ten-minute misconduct), Sean Durzi (two minutes for roughing).

New York: Mika Zibanejad (two minutes for roughing), Jacob Trouba (two minutes for roughing + ten-minute misconduct), Barclay Goodrow (two minutes for roughing + ten-minute misconduct), Igor Shesterkin (two minutes for leaving the crease).

It took a while, but eventually, things cooled off and the Rangers saluted their fans after the 2-1 victory.
