Connor McDavid is indisputably the best player in the NHL, but the young forward was almost the best player in the Finnish league as sources out of Finland have reported the following.
"MTV refers to several sources, according to which McDavid's result in Finland in November 2020 had already been made. Eventually, the deal broke down. MTV doesn't know the reason."
With the NHL season in question due to the COVID-19 pandemic it appears that McDavid had already found a way to ensure he didn't lose a season by signing to play in Europe.
This news is extremely interesting as it shows that even the best player in the world wasn't sure if the NHL was going to be able to get a season in.
