On Sunday night during the Pens vs. Caps game, Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby took out some of his frustrations on Capitals rookie Martin Fehérváry. This came in the form of a dangerous play below the goal line that sent Fehervary into the end boards. There was no call on the play and no supplemental discipline handed down after by the NHL.
The lack of discipline hasn't sat well with a lot of people and some of those individuals have pointed out the hypocrisy about this play and how if the roles were reversed there definitely would have been at the very least a penalty on the play. It has been a conversation over the years about how the rulebook seems to be interpreted for star players and after the game when asked about the incident Fehervary gave a rather noncommittal answer about the incident when he said, "I don't know. I don't even know what should I talk about. I don't care we'll see next game."
Crosby's long-time rival Marc Methot came across the video on his Twitter timeline and felt the need to add this to the conversation.
Now while I agree there should have been some sort of discipline for this play whether it was a 2 minute penalty or a one game suspension I think it's pretty clear there is still some bias on Methot's part here. I think anyone reading this tweet felt very similar to Ottawa radio personality Ian Mendes when he said:
Now hopefully Marc Methot can let go over some of his dislike for Crosby because unfortunately I'm sure Crosby has forgotten about Methot.
