Tomas Nosek's controversial elbow to Eric Staal's head during the Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers game last night caused an uproar among the Panthers and led to the referees ending the game prematurely by running the time off the clock without the teams playing.
Typically, the NHL Department of Player Safety announces any fines or hearings before noon the next day. With 5 pm approaching at the NHL offices, it seems that the Department has reached a decision and will not be disciplining Nosek.
The NHL's decision not to discipline Nosek has received backlash from fans, especially since Michael Bunting was suspended for three playoff games for a similar hit to Erik Cernak's head just a day before. Fans are calling for consistency in the league's disciplinary actions, which they feel has not been provided by George Parros.
