Georges Parros, along with the NHL Department of Player Safety, announced yesterday that Michael Bunting of the Toronto Maple Leafs would serve a three-game suspension for an illegal hit to the head of Erik Cernak.
Today, Player Safety will likely be reviewing a play during the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers game from last night. It's very probable that on a play where Bruins Tomas Nosek's delivered an elbow to Eric Staal's face will result in some supplementary discipline, after seeing the standard with the Bunting suspension.
During the third period, the Bruins were behind 6-2 and Staal, just trying to hold a lead, threw the puck around the boards, while Nosek went to finish the hit on him. The puck was long gone, but Nosek went elbow first right into Staal's face, which knocked him out of the game;
