Penguins offer Letang a contract extension and one team who hopes he turns it down

The Montreal Canadiens have been linked to Kris Letang If he were to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, but it sounds like the Pittsburgh Penguins have made an attempt to extend the defenseman. Letang the Montreal, Quebec native has played his entire career in Pittsburgh totaling 887 games.
According to Louis Jean the 34-year-old the Penguins have made Letang a 2-year offer with a cap hit of 5 million per season. It is unknown if Letang will accept this deal, if he will look to negotiate further or if Letang will look to test free agency this summer. If he does, there is no doubt going to be no shortage of suitors.
