Alex Debrincat was drafted in the second round in 2016, despite putting up back-to-back 50+ goal 100+ point season in the OHL because teams didn't like that he was only 5'7".

Well, the Blackhawks took a 'chance' on him at 39th overall and it's paid off significantly. In his rookie season in 2017-18, he scored 28 goals 58 points in 82 games.

This past season he put up 41 goals and 78 points in 82 games and this young star is still capable of much more.

Debrincat is in the final year of a deal that pays him $6,400,000, he is still an RFA, but has a qualifying offer of $9,000,000, which could be an issue for some teams.

To get this young star away from the Blackhawks, it's going to take some top prospect and picks, which these four teams are rumoured to be the top contenders and are in on Debrincat.

#1: Los Angeles Kings:The Kings were supposed to be rebuilding, but after the signing of Philip Danault, the resurgence of Jonathan Quick, along with the development of some of their younger players, they seem to be back in contending mode, which they feel like they need to add some additional scoring.

They are loaded with prospects such as: Byfield, Kaliyev, Turcotte, Vilardi, Thomas, Clarke, along with having all of their first round picks for the next 3 seasons, if the Hawks want prospects and picks, the Kings have some to spare.

#2: New Jersey Devils:The Devils have been at the bottom of the standings for the past few seasons and want to begin contending. They recently won the lottery and have the 2nd overall pick which they said could be in play. If the Hawks want to rebuild and the Devils want to contend, this is a match made in heaven for a trade.

#3: New York Rangers: The Rangers shocked the hockey world this year when they made the Eastern Conference Finals, but unfortunately after winning games 1 & 2 they lost 4 straight to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Rangers just like the Kings are loaded with young talent, but the Rangers talent already has NHL experience, such as Lafreniere, Kakko, Schneider, Chytil, Kravtsov. The Rangers though are about to enter cap hell and the $9,000,000 qualifying offer for Debrincat could pose a problem, but if they really wanted to make something work, they definitely could.

#4: Philadelphia Flyers:The Flyers had a very disappointing season and want to retool instead of rebuild, so a team that can add a 40 goal scorer, would definitely help in a retooling. The only problem is, unless the Flyers are offering Cam York or Bobby Brink, I don't see how the Flyers will outdo any of the above teams.
