Following yesterday's thrilling win for the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Tampa Bay Lightning the Leafs are sitting 3-2 in the best of 7 series with their confidence high knowing they have 2 more chances to close out the series and the Bolts will play with their backs against the wall.
After the loss to Toronto following a 3rd period meltdown Cooper refused to give credit to the Leafs refused to give credit to the Leafs saying the back-to-back Stanley Cup champions were beating themselves.
Now Cooper has commented again on the much vaulted core of the Leafs, and their failures to close out a playoff series and escape the first round in recent years.
"We have won these types of games before ... Maybe they're using it as motivation. But until you start winning these games, there's always going to be doubt in your mind."
Fair to say, and winning the Stanley Cup twice in a row entitles you to some of these opinions, but based on their win yesterday and this celebration from core member of the Leafs Auston Matthews, it's fair to wonder if Toronto's time has come.
