After starting off the season in a bit of a slump which led to a lot of speculation of head coach Sheldon Keefe getting fired, but here we are almost midway through December and thank god they didn't because since the start of November the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the hottest teams in the NHL.
Quickly coming up on the Boston Bruins for first place in the Atlantic, the Maple Leafs are 14-1-4 since November and have recorded atleast a point in 14 straight games.
One major weakness for the Maple Leafs though has been their play in overtime. Despite having some elite forwards which you would think playing 3on3 would be a serious advantage for the Maple Leafs, before last nights game they were 1-6 in overtimes this season.
Always looking for something to criticize, the media has had a lot to say about their overtime issues.
So last night when they finally won in Overtime over the Calgary Flames 5-4, Auston Matthews took a slight shot at the difficult to deal with Toronto media.
It feels great. Gets you guys off our backs a little bit until the next one.
