These past few seasons have not been easy for Price. He has had a stint with the NHLPA Players Assistance program and had to go through quite a bit of rehabilitation before making it into 5 games at the end of the 2021-22 season.
His knee got worse though and he has missed all of this season, and the reports believe that Price will never play another NHL game.
While he has not announced his retirement, his wife has stated that they will be moving from Montreal at the end of this season and moving out west to be closer to their families.
With only a few games left in the season, Carey has officially re-joined the team and is travelling with the Canadiens to Toronto today.
Carey Price is reportedly traveling with the #GoHabsGo to Toronto. https://t.co/B978ouchSt Hands Down Hockey (@handsdownhockey) April 8, 2023
While he unfortunately wont be playing, it is nice to see Carey back with the team. Stepping away from hockey is never easy for a player, especially when you are forced out by injuries.
Whether Price will ever be able to play again is yet to be seen, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that a person's health always comes first, but we would love to see him skate onto the ice with the pads on getting ready for a game again.
