Jack Eichel was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres 2nd overall back in 2015, and was supposed to be the saviour of this franchise. If many recall, Eichel himself thought he was the best player available in the draft, and if you remember correctly, Connor McDavid is who went ahead of Eichel.
Success never came for Eichel in Buffalo and after a very public dispute over a surgery for Eichel, things got bad quick for Jack and the Sabres.
Eichel ended up being traded to the Golden Knights last year for Peyton Krebs, Alex Tuch, conditional round 1 pick in the 2022 draft (Noah Ostlund) and conditional round 2 pick in the 2023 draft, and since this trade everyone has been better.
Last night the Buffalo Sabres hosted the Vegas Golden Knights and Eichel returned to Buffalo with vengeance in mind. Eichel would go on to score a hat-trick in a 7-4 win for the Golden Knights, and after scoring his 3rd goal, would taunt the fans in Buffalo.
Eichel is definitely a generational talent and is showing it this year during his first full year with the Golden Knights, he currently has 9 goals and 19 points in 15 games.
