Legendary Chicago Blackhawk Appears to Be Retiring Soon.
Jonathan Toews' impact on the Chicago Blackhawks franchise needs no introduction. But now, it seems like the original six franchise's longtime captain is ready to call it a career.

In his Oilers Mailbag column published on Friday, Sportsnet's Mark Spector reports that Toews, who announced in February that he has battling long COVID, likely won't return to play in the 2023-24 season.
»Word is Toews won't play next season. When his agency sent out its list of pending free agents, we are told his name was not even on the list.»

Though there's been interest from the Edmonton Oilers in bringing Toews back home to Canada, it remains to be seen if he'll ever even step onto the ice next season - especially if his own agency seems to think he won't be able to. Otherwise, hanging up his skates may be Toews' best course of action.
