We are now officially over a month into free agency and the second best player available and best center available is still sitting without a contract. When free agency opened on July 13th, there is no possible way that Kadri believed he would still be a free agent for this long.

It is believed that Kadri initially priced himself out of the market asking for $9+ million on a 7 year deal.

Kadri set career high's this year scoring 87 points in 71 games, and adding an additional 15 in 16 playoff games en route to winning the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche:

It has been rumoured for a few weeks now that Kadri has already agreed to a 7 year $49 million contract with the New York Islanders, but it's being kept a 'secret' by Lou Lamoriello. We saw him do this with both Kyle Pamieri and Zach Parise last season.

According to John Shannon, a '' well placed source'' informed him that the deal will be finalized in the next week. While he was on the 'Sekeres and Price Podcast', Shannon shared the following information:

I do think he ends up with the New York Islanders, I think that there are still some, you know, chairs to move on the on the deck of the of the cruise ship before that they can announce it, but it wouldn't surprise me that it it gets done this week at some point.

I do know, is that Lou has to find has to move some money to. And so, that becomes that becomes the. That becomes the bigger storyline is. How much? Where is Lou moving some of the money to?

And and quite, frankly has have, Darren Ferris, the agent and and Naz. Have they finally realized that his price point isn't as high as the one he expected to get near 9 million dollars. So it how the information of the deal getting done this week has leaked out is absolutely amazing to me, But I got it from a very good source that It's going to happen very soon.
