The reports have been swirling for some time now that Bruins' forward David Pastrnak and the club are finalizing a long term contract, and one that is likely to make Pasta one of the highest paid players in the NHL.
There has even been speculation from Ty Anderson of 98.5 The Sports Hub that Pastrnak's contract will be the highest in team history.
With the Bruins season opener set for Wednesday, October 12 against the Washington Capitals there is hope the deal will be completed before the regular season begins, rather than drag on an impact the play of Pastrnak and the Bruins.
At only 26 it seems likely that the Bruins would want to lock Pastrnak down long term as he enters the prime of his career.
Pastrnak finished second on the Bruins in points with 77 in 72 games last year, and is the youngest of their top 4 scorers.
