The Boston Bruins have had a transformative offseason. The retirements of David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron have left the Bruins scrambling for top six centers. As a result of this one of their young wingers may be on the move.

Bruins Acquire Lindholm

According to this rumor, the Bruins are heavily interested in trading for Elias Lindholm. The Flames are coming off a down season and could be looking to shake up their core under their new General Manager. In this potential deal, Lindholm would head to the Bruins along with veteran Flame Mikael Backlund.

Flames Scoop Up DeBrusk

The Flames would need a significant package to let Elias Lindholm go to another franchise. One name that has been suggested as a potential return is Jake DeBrusk. DeBrusk had his career-best season in 2022-23. He ended the year with 50 points in 64 games and 27 goals.

Who Wins This Hypothetical Deal?

This trade could be one of those that end up as a win-win for both organizations.

The Bruins get their coveted center depth. Elias Lindholm would be a good compliment to superstar David Pastrnak and extend the Bruins' Stanley Cup contention window a bit.

For the Flames they get a bit of a roster reset after a disappointing 2022-23 season. A couple of veterans head out for a younger DeBrusk. Jake DeBrusk is heading into the best hockey of his career and is a legit goal-scoring threat. This would balance out the Flames forward core better than it currently is.
