Last night the Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the New York Islanders in what turned out to be a 3-2 overtime win for the Isles.
Midway through the third period though, Maple Leafs fans were holding their breath as Islanders player Oliver Wahlstrom caught Auston Matthews with a cheap knee-on-knee hit.
Luckily, Matthews popped right back up and did not seem affected by the hit, but these times of plays always seem to come with some type of supplementary discipline.
It was nice to see Rasmus Sandin go stand up for his teammate, but it did not end so well for him.
