After Changing Owner, GM and President, the Senators Could Make a Change in Head Coach

Everything indicates that the next one to go, unless the team starts performing amazingly, is DJ Smith, the head coach.

That's what was stated by Elliotte Friedman in the latest 32 Thoughts episode:

I don't know what Steve Staios [the president of hockey operations] and Michael Andlauer [the owner] think of Patrick Roy, but one of the investor groups was ready to appoint Patrick Roy as head coach. That's the decision they would have made had they taken control of the team!"

Patrick Roy and Claude Julien Linked to Ottawa After Rumours of Coaching Change

When the day arrives for the Senators to part ways with their current head coach, D.J. Smith, it shouldn't come as a surprise if Patrick Roy's name reemerges in the coaching discussions. While Claude Julien's name is also in the list, Roy seems to attract more attention.

IF DJ does get axed. Claude Julien and Patrick Roy would be at the top
of the shortlist of candidates for the job.

If the Sens hire either Roy or Julien, it could elevate the rivalry between Montreal and Ottawa to another level.
