When the Pittsburgh Pensuings were officially eliminated from this years' playoffs, Tristan Jarry revealed to the medias that he played through injuries for a good part of the season to explain his frequent bad performances.

Now that he turns UFA in a few weeks, questions about his future were raised by the hockey community.

Jarry's Demands for His Next Contract

Elliotte Friedman revealed new informations on the situation in the latest episode of 32 Thoughts.

"I heard (Tristan) Jarry, when they were talking during the season, wanted some term, like 5-6 years, so I don't know where that's going to go."

The next five years are crucial in Pittsburgh. It's the last seasons of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang. Dubas must be sure to have an elite goaltender to support the team. Is Jarry really good enough?

Can he do the Job?

Yes, Jarry was injured, but at the end of the day, we still have to evaluate what we see on the ice. In 47 games this year, he carried a 2.90 GAA, a 0.909 SV% and a 24-13-7 record.

The Pengins need a real number one goalie. Someone who'll be able to take his game to the next level come playoffs times.

Jarry hasn't proved that he could do that.

It's hard to tell what Dubas will decide, but he'll look closely at all his options, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Jarry ending up with another team this summer.
