This Stars Defenseman laid a dirty hit during last night's game and proceeded to get beaten in the resulting fight.

Seeler Backs His Teammate and Drops Hakanpaa

There was some rough action happening midway through the third period of last night's Stars-Flyers game, as Jani Hakanpaa laid an awkward and dirty hit on Travis Konecny that defenseman Nick Seeler took issue with. Hakanpaa, sitting at 6'7", pretty much bear-hugged Konecney, 5'10", near the blueline. Seeler quickly dropped the mitts with Hakanpaa and dropped the big defenseman.

Flyers Fans Not Happy With Resulting Penalties

Obviously, the fight was an immediate reaction to the wrongdoings by Hakanpaa. However, the penalties didn't reflect that, as Hakanpaa served only 2 minutes for roughing on Konecny and 5 minutes for fighting Seeler. however, Seeler revived a 2-minute instigator penalty for grabbing Hakanpaa, 5 minutes for fighting, and a 10-minute misconduct.

While the Flyers were able to get the victory in the fight, they were unable to secure the win in the game, losing 5-4 in overtime to the Stars.
