Arguably the biggest deadline rental this year is Claude Giroux. A player who has been a captain of a team, been to the cup finals, put up 100+ point seasons, he is just everything a team would look for when trying to make a push to the cup.
According to David Pagnotta, the Florida Panthers are pushing hard for the Flyers Captain. Giroux is coming up on his 1000th game and who knows, by Thursday that game may not be played in a Flyers uniform.
According to Pagotta:
If the Panthers face the Avalanche in the Stanley Cup Finals, they wouldn't want Giroux on the opposition squad
The Flyers have been heavily scouting Owen Tippett, who is rumoured to be going the other way if the trade is to happen with the Panthers.
But let's not forget about the Colorado Avalanche who Giroux has been linked to since all the trade talk began.
With Gabriel Landeskog hurt as well as Samuel Girard, the Avalanche have some possible open cap space to trade for Giroux still even after acquiring Josh Manson from the Ducks.
But one thing we do know is, this could be one amazing deadline!
