That was before Torey Krug got involved.
After their Stanley Cup win, the St. Louis Blues looked to build a long-term cap-friendly roster. This meant signing several players, such as Colton Parayko, Brayden Schenn, Robert Thomas, and Jordan Kyrou to long-term deals with trade protection. One other player also got a long-term deal - Torey Krug. This deal came with a full no-move clause.
Now, the Blues want to send Krug to the Philadelphia Flyers in a deal consisting of several big-name roster players. Unfortunately for them, Krug has refused to waive his no-move clause.
While it may be much smaller than it was initially, a trade revolving around Kevin Hayes is still likely to go down. This isn't the outcome either side wanted, but it is the risk teams take when they give out trade protection.
Good on Torey for standing his ground!
As Read on HockeyFeed - Krug has blocked a major trade.
