While this is a great initiative by the NHL, there has been a little bit of pushback about it this season.
Every team at one point had a 'pride night' in their schedule, where they would wear pride coloured jerseys for warm ups to show their support, but over the last few weeks, teams and players alike have started to refuse to wear the jerseys.
While some players state it's due to christian beliefs, some Russian players are also doing it as they could be arrested back home in Russia for showing support.
Tyson Barrie who was traded from the Edmonton Oilers to the Nashville Predators at the trade deadline this year, has made a statement regarding Pride Nights:

Fans were very happy to hear of Barrie's support:
Never imagined being a Tyson Barrie stan but I have so much respect for this guy after his comments in support of the LGBTQ community and pride night for the Predators. Class exemplified. bergerboy95 (@smallcheeze) April 5, 2023
The Nashville Predators did wear their pride jerseys and even raised some money for charity:
Happy to see the Nashville Predators wear pride jerseys tonight - from my understanding every player wore them
Tyson Barrie touched on his disappointment with teams opting out in an interview today too!
Such a likeable team!#Smashville https://t.co/eFAx2CPuSn Alex Wauthy (@AlexWauthy) April 5, 2023
