Since the moment you can put on a pair of skates, you dream about playing in the National Hockey League.
Tens of millions of kids all across the world are playing hockey right now with that same dream, and sadly only a few will ever play professionally, even fewer will play in the NHL.
Without adding call ups, there is 640 full time players in the NHL each season, and to be one of those 640 is an elite task, but to be one of those 640 players for 800+ games, is absolutely incredible.
To date, there has been 7565 players play a game in the NHL, and only 657 have played as many games as this guy.
After playing this past season for the Philadelphia Flyers, Justin Braun has officially announced his retirement:
Justin Braun has officially announced his retirement from the @NHL after 13 seasons.
Justin first entered the league in 2010 after being drafted in the 7th round of the 2007 Entry Draft to the @SanJoseSharks.
Braun spent 9 seasons with the Sharks before being traded to the @NHLFlyers.
He spent three seasons with the Flyers, and had a short stint in the 2021-22 season with the @NYRangers before returning to Philadelphia, where he would finish his career.
Justin played in 842 regular-season games, scoring 199 points as a stay-at-home defenseman.
Congratulations, Justin on your incredible career and welcome to the #NHLAlumni Association! 👏
