With Jack Campbell's performances not getting much better the price to move on from his contract has now been revealed.

The Price for Oilers to Move on From Struggling Campbell

Like many players that are struggling that are making a lot of money the price typically is their first round pick plus the struggling star.

For the Oilers it appears to be no different as it will take either their first round pick or their top prospect Xavier Bourgault to move on from Campbell.

Dreger went on to say in order to unload Campbell's contract (deal has to be money in/money out for it to work for Edmonton) he would have to add a 1st RD pick or Xavier Bourgault, he does not want to leave the new incoming GM in a bad situation.

Campbell has four years left at $5 million on his contact and was sent to the AHL with hopes to get his game back.

Campbell's AHL Stint Leaving More Desired For Oilers Fans

Campbell has had four starts with the Bakersfield Condors so far this year and other than his last game he has not looked good.

He has a 1-3-0 record with one shutout and some really unimpressive stats. Campbell has a 3.26 goals against average and a 0.873 save percentage which is virtually identical to his stats in the NHL this season.

The AHL stint has not been what the Oilers were hoping for when they assigned him to the AHL.

The Oilers may be out of options and in order to be cup contenders changes need to be made to the roster to get the team to where it needs and shedding $5 million in cap space would be a must in order to make the team better.
