The Vancouver Canucks shocked the NHL world in their season opener when they dominated the Edmonton Oilers en route to an 8-1 victory, and now, they could be looking to make their mark on the Pacific Division.

A dominant outing

Throughout the game, Vancouver managed to keep Connor McDavid quiet with just one point, all the while Brock Boeser, who has been at the center of some trade rumours in recent times notched four goals, a potential sign of things to come.

In net, the team got to starter Jack Campbell quickly, before tallying another four goals against backup Stuart Skinner, but it was something on the other side that drew plenty of attention after the game.

A disgusting departure

When asked why goaltender Thatcher Demko was pulled in the third period, coach Rick Tocchet revealed just why the star tender was pulled after a fantastic game.

"Rick Tocchet says Thatcher Demko was pulled because he is battling the flu, was dehydrated and threw up in his mask." Elliotte Friedman

This is certainly an understandable reason for having to leave the game and would have no doubt been a disgusting feeling for the young goaltender, but after that start, we can't wait to see what he can do when he's feeling healthy again.
