Insider Reports That the Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs are Working on a Blockbuster Trade
The playoff runs of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Carolina Hurricanes ended sooner than they wanted.
They were both eliminated in the second and third rounds, both at the hands of the Florida Panthers.
It seems that they are destined to make some moves together in the off-season. At least, that's what Howard Berger reported on Twitter.

Rumors are circulating about the Leafs' "Core Four," even after Shanahan announced that they were safe. However, we never know what will happen when a new GM comes in.
This particular rumor involves Mitch Marner.

Obviously, the price to acquire Marner is high. In order to land him, the Canes would have to send top players along with quality picks.
Many believe that the Leafs would make a big mistake by trading Marner, but for a return like this, all options should be considered.
