Nick Foligno Hilariously Taunts Kirill Kaprizov And Gets Punished by the Referees
Indeed, Kirill Kaprizov,
the Minnesota Wild's best player, was given a massive advantage last night in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
In the second period of the game, Nick Foligno, the Chicago Blackhawks' captain, received a two-minute penalty for holding Kaprizov.
He disagreed with the call and made sure to tell the referees his opinion in a hilarious way.
The Blackhawks' veteran imitated Kaprizov's embellishment by acting to fall on his own, as he was skating towards the penalty box.
However, the referees didn't find that funny at all, and his two-minute penalty became a four-minute one, as the refs added two more minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Watch how it went down in the video below:
Regardless of opinions on the call, one thing is certain, this hilarious yet controversial moment will be remembered as one of the more unique incidents in the 2024-25 NHL season.
This was the Wild's first win since Kaprizov's return from injury that forced him to miss a month of action. Before his injury, the Russian forward was on his way to be in the race to get the NHL MVP title this season, tallying 51 points in 34 games.
