One of the league's most disliked players still waiting to be signed
Nick Cousins has likely earned himself a horrible reputation around the league for some of his antics in the past, and he is still waiting for a contract.
We are nearly a full month past the start of free agency, and many players still remain without a contract. One of those players is a very hated man around the NHL, Nick Cousins. It appears that due to his bad reputation, teams are hesitant to want to add a guy like him in the locker room, for fears of ruining team chemistry.
"What people don't wanna watch and see is kneeing, hitting a guys head into the boards, ramming a guy from behind and that is a common theme for [Nick Cousins]," said Bieksa back in January. "I have never done this before but I have to do it, because this is a trend with this player."
- Kevin Bieksa
You Go Nick Cousins! @Cous27🏒😻
Despite all the love Cousins got from fans in South Florida, Kevin Bieksa's rant went viral, so it's very possible many GM's around the league got turned off from signing Cousins due to this.
Cousins is fresh off a Stanley Cup win with the Florida Panthers, however despite his recent championship experience, he is still waiting for offers from teams. There are about eight weeks left until the start of training camps, so you have to wonder whether he will find a home at all.
