The Boston Bruins have made some great decisions in recent times, but unfortunately their latest arena policy can't be categorized as anything other than ridiculous.
Boston's new policy outrages fans
On X, the TD Garden revealed a new policy that fans were not able to bring a bag into the arena larger than 6" x 4" x 1.5", and unsurprisingly, it hasn't gone down well.
"UPDATE: Effective Feb. 17, new @EvolvTechnology security screening will be implemented at TD Garden. To ensure a swifter entry process, we strongly discourage guests from bringing bags. Bags larger than 6» x4» x 1.5» will not be permitted."
While this ban can effect anyone regardless of gender, it's clear that their female fans are most outraged due to the needs they have with carrying bags, and they weren't shy about revealing their anger.
As a woman who needs certain products that the TD Garden doesn't supply for free, this is absolutely ridiculous. My phone is the size that yall want our new «bags» to be.
For the love of God, get women in your/NHL's decision-making processes.
It's unclear whether or not the new policy could be overturned due to backlash, but it's just unnecessary, and hopefully the Bruins can change it when they see the reaction from their female fans.
