Blackhawks Head Coach Gives Serious Warning to Connor Bedard For His Recent Actions During a Game
During a recent game, Connor Bedard let his emotions get the best of him, and Chicago Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson issued a serious warning to him after the game.
Bedard Shows His Frustration On the Bench During Game
One of the main characteristics of Connor Bedard that has allowed him to be so successful as a hockey player is his relentless competitiveness. He has an inner desire to win every shift, which is what makes him so great. However, when you are playing on the Chicago Blackhawks, sometimes it doesn't always go your way.
During a game, Bedard got frustrated after a shift and proceeded to punch the boards several times when he was on the bench.
Love the #fire & #passion but yeah, don't go punching the boards, Bedard
Luke Richardson Issues Warning To Bedard to Keep Emotions in Check
While there is a plus side to being emotional, Blackhawks Head Coach Luke Richardson doesn't want Bedard's emotions to get the best of him, and worst case for him to injure himself. Richardson warned that Bedard needs to make sure the other team doesn't know they are getting under his skin.
"It's great to have emotion and use that as motivation," Richardson advised, "but it's crucial not to let the other team see they're getting under your skin. Show no emotion, and let them be frustrated that they can't get to you."
However, the competitor in Bedard had a hard time heeding that advice. He smashed his stick into the boards, showing his frustration again.
Clearly, Bedard still has a lot of adjusting to do in the NHL, however, it is the fire within him that will propel him forward.
